TWILIGHT DIVE

Diving in the evening, as the light begins to fade away, is a peaceful time on the reef

Once the sun goes down, a dive site can look completely different than it did, just an hour before!

Come explore the gorgeous Cozumel reefs in the light and in the dark, you will be amazed at the difference! Our boat ‘Akula’ departs daily from Marina Caleta. All the necessary equipment is provided.

1

The journey starts with a short ride to the first dive spot.

Once at a dive site, jump into the water to see the beauty of the underwater world at time, calming down for the night or positioning themselves for nighttime feeding.

It’s a truly memorable experience!

2

The second dive takes place after dark. While getting to the next dive spot enjoy the view of the famous Cozumel sunset.

Watch the sun going slowly down the horizon and coloring everything around into the impressive twilight.

Many of Cozumel marine species display unique behaviors at this shades of orange, red and yellow. You’ll be offered a light snack of seasonal fruit and cookies.

Chilled water is available throughout the whole trip upon your request.

3

During the night dive you’re likely to see crustaceans such as lobster, shrimp and crab beginning to emerge after a long day’s rest.

The Caribbean reef octopuses and eels become a bit more active. There is also a chance to spot a turtle sleeping.

Finally, on occasion divers experience a nocturnal phenomenon called bioluminescence, when the water around you starts glowing light blue with every move of yours.

Each Twilight/Night dive typically lasts approximately 1 hour depending on the air consumption with an average depth of 60-78 feet (18-24 meters) depending on your level of certification.
