PADI Rescue Diver

PADI Rescue Diver
Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Why?

This is a great course for every diver to complete, we generally dive with someone we know or love, typically a close friend, or a family member, so why wouldn’t you want to be able to feel confident that should the unexpected happen you could deal with any given situation with confidence and a cool head.

The word “RESCUE” sounds like it is going to be a tiring and exhausting course. Maybe you think it is for “strong” people? Although we will push you a little, and be teaching you new skills, the course has a flexible approach and is tailored to show how any person of any size can organize and facilitate the rescue of anyone.

During the course you will learn how to:

  • Use emergency oxygen.
  • Troubleshoot and fix minor scuba gear issues.
  • Improve underwater navigation skills.
  • Identify a diver in need at the surface or underwater
  • Rescue another diver or yourself.

Unlike the Open Water Diver course, most of PADI Rescue Diver training and rescue scenarios take place in open water.

The course consists of three parts:

  1. Knowledge development
  2. Rescue training exercises
  3. Open water rescue scenarios.

The course normally takes 2 days and consists of 4-6 dives. We provide you with all the necessary equipment and learning materials.
