There are 3 steps to becoming a PADI Open Water diver:
1. Theory – On signing up to the course you will receive the link to the e-learning, which contains some interactive materials on the theory of diving, as well as severa tests. There’s also the option to get a hard copy manual instead of e-learning.
2. Introductory Practical Session – Takes place at a shallow sea spot easily accessible from the shore. Learn all of the skills required to become a scuba diver under the supervision of a professional PADI Instructor. All the necessary equipment provided.
3. Once you’ve completed an introductory session, you need to do four open water dives from the boat to practice your skills. These are normally done over 2 days. Explore the beauty of Cozumel reefs under the guidance of your instructor. All the necessary equipment plus light snacks and water provided.

- Age: from 10 years old (student divers who are younger than 15 earn
the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification, which they may upgrade to PADI Open Water Diver certification upon reaching 15)
